18 Ways To Be A Bastard In Games Part 3

Niko dies mid-crime spree.

You’re annoyed and want to vent.

Rockstar happen to respawn him in a nearby hospital, laden with patients napping on their guerneys….

The words ‘shooting’, ‘fish’ and ‘barrel’ come to mind.

Oh, and ‘bastard’.

BioShock maps child murder to a button press; you don’t have to look hard for evil.

The bastard, however, celebrates unnecessary evil.

Both BioShock and its shinier sequel supply you with a Pick ‘n’ Mix of torturing abilities – less pink foam prawns, more bee attacks.

For our money (salvaged from a nearby dustbin, naturally) it doesn’t get better than the electro-bath.

Set a Splicer aflame with the incinerate plasmid and just as he jumps into nearby water, fire an electro bolt into the shimmering wetness. The notion that he sees his fate buzzing before him is most pleasing.

With my recent “10 tracks to hear this week“.

I must add a little red dead redemption into the mix of bastardly deeds.

So here’s my favourite, what we need to do is hogtie a helpless civilian, extra bastard points for a civilian of female origin.

Place her onto your horse and ride to the nearest train track (providing there is no law enforcements on you).

And lay your unsuspecting victim straight right. slap. bang. in the middle of those deadly tracks!

Extra Bastard points for putting your bandana on before you commit this unsightly deed.

More to come, including CRACKDOWN, SAW, GODFATHER II and more!

This one is well overdue…

1. Ashtar Command – Deadman’s Gun (Soundtrack to Red Dead Redemption)

In homage to Red Dead Redemption I feel this should be number one this week. Epically written power ballad for one of the best games i’ve seen in a LONG time.

WARNING: video contains Game Spoilers

2. Example – Kickstarts

New floorfiller from the standup comic /musician Example. Refreshingly catchy, with a nonchalant cleverly placed rap in between the chorus and the verse. I also believe that its this weeks UK number 9.

3. Tinnie Tempah – Frisky

Not the normal grime for me, however this song is to catchy to let lose. With it’s totally inappropriate lyrics and larger than life persona, this song is perfect for those loud youths of today. I’ve said my part, all you need to do is listen to it and find out!

4. Jason Derulo – Ridin’ Solo (Bittersweet Symphony Remix)

I must not be thinking right this week, because once again this track is not my normal listening quota. However, brilliant beat with an extremely catchy chorus, I just had to get a remix and bingo!

The verve’s bittersweet symphony brilliantly mixed with Ridin’ Solo! . . . Download it!

5. Hot Chip – I Feel Better

Brilliant song from the legendary Hot Chip, the video sprouted a new internet meme “Cancer Jesus” which makes it all that more better. The strings remind me of a little child playing his older brothers keyboard. However despite this it is a very catchy tune.

6. The Gaslight Anthem – We Did It When We Were Young

A haunting song from gaslights new album “American Slang”. With an epic ending to follow it who can resist? Review Of Gaslights new album to come soon!

7. Gorillaz – On Melancholy Hill

Instantly catchy, Gorillaz new single “On Melancholy Hill” is a remnants of memories forget. Just brilliant.

8. Jose Gonzalez –  Far Away

So I think I can safely say that this weeks “10 Tracks” has been influenced by Red Dead Redemption. Far Away is one of those songs that just fitted with the mood of the game perfectly, and jose Gonzalez has become one of my favourite artists of late!

9. Eminem – Not Afraid

He’s back, the poet is back simple! this is the old new eminem, his last album was a bit poor, but if this song is anything to go by with his new album “reovery” then I’m looking forward to downloading it!

10. Jose Gonzalez – Teardrops

I like the Massive attack original used in the TV series “House” but this one brings a whole new feel to it. Download it and see!
